<p>Can you attach a copy of your Template HTML? I'm curious to see
whether or not you have a DEFAULT system region included in your
Template.</p>
<p>Also, can you confirm that this Page uses a Content Type which
does <em>not</em> have a Data Definition attached to it?</p>
<p>Thanks</p></div>Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-27T16:46:38Z2013-04-03T13:15:28ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>Hi Tim,</p>
<p>I just attached the template html and a screen shot of the page
content type. There appears to be no data definition defined.</p></div>Michael Barreratag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-27T18:09:41Z2013-04-03T13:15:28ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>Thanks for attaching those screen shots. I'm able to see that
you do indeed have a DEFAULT region in your Template (which is
good). I also noticed that you have another region named
CONTENTAREA (which comes after the wrapper div). If this is the
actual content area in the Template, you will probably need to move
your DEFAULT region such that it is just above (or below) the
CONTENTAREA region:</p>
<p>I suspect what may be happening now is that the content from the
DEFAULT region is appearing inside of the wrapper div so you aren't
seeing it where you are expecting to.</p>
<p>Let me know if this makes sense.</p></div>Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-27T18:49:41Z2013-04-03T13:15:28ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>You make perfect sense Time.</p>
<p>I tried moving the CONTENTAREA region below and above the
DEFAULT region and still nothing appears.</p>
<p>I have attached an image showing what regional blocks I have set
up for this page.</p></div>Michael Barreratag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-27T18:58:39Z2013-04-03T13:15:28ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>OK, in your screen shot showing the regions I can see that there
is a Format applied to the DEFAULT region. Can you check the 'No
Format' box for that region and submit? It looks like it is
inheriting a Format from the Configuration Set which I'm not sure
you intended.</p></div>Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-27T19:37:43Z2013-04-03T13:15:27ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>I removed the format and now the formatting is weird.</p>

it from scratch within the system? If you have an existing HTML
file for this Page that you can refer to, I would recommend looking
at the difference between the source code for the working page and
the source code you get in the preview pane within the system. In
order to get the source code of the Page in Cascade, you will want
to make sure you get the frame source.</p>
<p>Can you go ahead and attach your Velocity Format here too?</p></div>Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-27T19:46:11Z2013-04-03T13:15:27ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>I built this page initially in Dreamweaver than I just copied

<p>Integration issues like these are extremely difficult to track
down without having access to the instance. Have you tried
comparing the source code of the working page (in Dreamweaver) to
the source code of the page in Cascade Server?</p></div>Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-28T15:55:30Z2013-04-03T13:15:26ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>Tim I can do a comparison but what source code do I check on
CASCADE?</p></div>Michael Barreratag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-03-28T16:05:30Z2013-04-03T13:15:26ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>The best way to check the source code in Cascade is to do the
following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Navigate to the problem Page</li>
<li>Click the <strong>Preview</strong> pane</li>
<li>In the right-hand window (where the content is being
displayed), right-click and select <strong>View Frame
Source</strong> (Chrome)</li>
</ul>
<p>Keep in mind that the option for viewing that frame source will
be slightly different depending on which browser you are using. In
Firefox, for example, you'll need to right-click, select
<strong>This Frame -> View Frame Source</strong>.</p>

the straight HTML where as in CASCADE broke up sections off the

<p>The source code in the CASCADE page has the system regions in
it.</p></div>Michael Barreratag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-04-02T18:36:32Z2013-04-03T13:15:26ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>Hi Michael,</p>
<p>The DEFAULT region represents where your main content will be
inserted in that template. I have therefore moved that to be in the
Content Area within your template. The location may still need to
be updated.</p>
<p>Please let me know if there are additional questions related to
this. The page should end up being put back together just like any
HTML dreamweaver template. The system-region tags should just be
place holders for HTML that will be inserted via blocks,
block/format combos, or WYSIWYG page content. I hope this
helps!</p></div>Pennytag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-04-02T19:13:46Z2013-04-03T13:15:26ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>Hey Penny,</p>
<p>you definitely have steered me into the right direction. I am
taking I can eliminate the use of the DEFAULT region in the
template.</p>
<p>I notice that now I have to WYSIWYG editors. One for main
content and one for sidebar content.</p>
<p>I copied and pasted my HTML in the main content editor and the
HTML of my sidebar I placed in the sidebar content area. I notice
as per the screen shots....for one the alignment is very off for
the content. It's in the right area (which is great!) but the
content is not falling with the size of the header and footer. See
attached file img7.</p>
<p>Secondly, my side bar content is appearing at the bottom.
Reference img8 file. It needs to be right justified.</p>
<p>I am taking note of this for sure just in case other departments
want their pages to feature a different template.</p></div>Michael Barreratag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-04-02T19:31:55Z2013-04-03T13:15:25ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>Hi Michael,<br>
It is a best practice to ALWAYS have a DEFAULT region. This region
has special abilities that other regions do not. This should be the
area designated for main content. So I would recommend removing the
other region as the duplicate.<br>
I am guessing that your sidebar might need a div wrapped around it
with styling to make it right align with the main content area. A
lot of people's html may look like the following and then you can
style #content and .sidebar in your CSS.<br></p>
<pre>
<code><div id="mainContent">
<div id="content">
<system-region name="DEFAULT"/>
</div>
<div class="sidebar">
<system-region name="SIDEBAR"/>
</div>
</div></code>
</pre></div>Pennytag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-04-02T19:40:18Z2013-04-03T13:15:25ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>So have the maincontent tags in the main content area and the
sidebar content tags in the sidebar area???</p>
<p>Or have both in the maincontent arae?</p></div>Michael Barreratag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/261034882013-04-02T19:45:41Z2013-04-03T13:15:25ZHow to I make the WYSIWYG editor to be editable for users<div><p>I would put those in your template. I may be

Then use css to
handle the alignment for the specified areas. Note: my divs are

to alter the alignment.</p>
