It is not possible to get the rendered contents of an Index
Block (or a Page for that matter) via Web Services.

Another approach I tried was to read in the folder that contains
these files but that only gives me the names of all the children
files but doesn't show me the custom meta for each file.

This approach could actually work, but you would need to:

Read the Folder to get all of the child Folders/Pages

Read each child Page and check for the metadata

If you come across a Folder, you would again need to traverse
that Folder to read the Pages within it

Does this make sense?

Tim
