<p>Definitely interesting, and it doesn't look as though we ever
narrowed down a cause in Christian's case.</p>
<p>The Web Services search using <code>*</code> should return the
exact same as using the Advanced Search feature in the UI. What
kind of results are you seeing if you try searching for asset name
<code>*</code> and only check the "Administration Area Assets"
within the UI?</p>

<p>Since restarting our server, we're getting the same results
searching for asset name <code>*</code> from the Advanced Search
tab with <code>Users</code> checked, as we do with the web services
<code>*</code> search.</p>
<p>If the issue comes up again, I'll try the UI search, see what it
returns and reopen this discussion, if necessary.</p>
