created, data entered and published. Going back to look at the
pages in Cascade we have characters inserted where an apostrophe
was previously working fine. An example is attached.</p></div>steelejtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/107238432011-11-14T14:36:28Z2011-11-14T14:36:28Zcurly quotes<div><p>Try using <code>$_EscapeTool.xml()</code> instead. Because of
Cascade's more strict XHTML validation, the <code>xml()</code>
escape method will always be preferable to <code>html()</code>
within Cascade.</p></div>Brent Arringtontag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/107238432011-11-14T14:44:45Z2011-11-14T14:44:45Zcurly quotes<div><p>I just did a quick search. This problem is rife throughout our
site. (See attached). Pages which previously published properly
appear to have been corrupted on republishing with the strings of
characters replacing quotation marks and apostrophes and possibly
other punctuation marks so:</p>

become more than a team;
we’ve become a

<p>Has this been encountered by others? Is this a known problem?
This is a serious situation here.</p></div>steelejtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/107238432011-11-14T14:45:20Z2011-11-14T14:45:20Zcurly quotes<div><p>attachment</p></div>steelejtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/107238432011-11-14T15:08:31Z2011-11-14T15:08:31Zcurly quotes<div><p>Brent,<br>
I will try this, however, any idea why this has happened in
retrospect to our pages?</p></div>steelejtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/107238432011-11-14T15:12:16Z2011-11-14T15:12:16Zcurly quotes<div><p>I'm not sure about the second issue. Are there any similarities
across the affected text? -- i.e. Is the affected content all
entered via a WYSIWYG or pasted from Word, etc.?</p></div>Brent Arringtontag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/107238432011-11-14T15:17:24Z2011-11-14T15:17:24Zcurly quotes<div><p>I imagine it's getting pasted from Word. I find it appearing in
WYSIWYGs and in other data input fields.</p></div>steelejtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/107238432011-11-14T15:22:29Z2011-11-14T15:22:29Zcurly quotes<div><p>I'm not sure what could be going on here, but this definitely
sounds like something that should be investigated as a bug report.
Would you mind filing a separate ticket for the garbage character
issue under "Bug Reports" to make sure this gets through to the
appropriate channels?</p>
<p>Thanks,</p>
