I believe this method is only used for dropdown fields that have
the Allow Custom Values option enabled. This
option allows the user to either select from the existing values or
enter a custom value.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you find this
method also returns false fro dropdown fields that have this option
enabled.

Thanks!

Ryan Griffithtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/348548292014-10-07T13:39:42Z2014-10-07T13:39:42ZWhat does StructuredDataNode.allowCustomValues do?

Ryan,

Thank you for the info. The allowCustomValues property was
totally out of my radar because it does not exist in web
services.

in 7.8, so it is fairly new as well.
