I think 10MB is reasonable value for this setting. Obviously if
you have a handful of larger files you want to manage in Cascade,
you can either raise this permanently or just temporarily (while
you upload those files). Things to keep in mind when considering
increasing this value:

All file content is stored in the database, so if people can
upload larger files, this will take up more space in the
database.

The Max Asset Versions setting is important to
consider in conjunction with this. If this is set to unlimited (not
recommended), for example, every single edit to a 10MB file will
take up an additional 10MB in the database. Therefore, if a 10MB
file is edited 50 times, the original file and all of its versions
are taking up 500MB in the database. I typically tell folks that
somewhere between 15-25 max asset versions is a solid number.

Depending on how your database backups are generated, increases
in database size will require a longer period of time during the
backup and restore processes.

Hope this helps!

Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/401072802016-06-14T14:34:09Z2016-06-14T14:34:09ZRecommended max upload size for files, images and zip archives

Hi Tim,
