I was going through some open discussions and realized you never
got a response from anyone on this. Were you able to figure this
out? I'm certainly no SQL Server expert, but
this page has a pretty good comparison between the two
methods.

In the event of a failure in your case, I think that as long as
you're OK with the prospect of losing any changes that may have
been made between that time and the previous night's backup, you
should be fine using SIMPLE backups.

From the application's perspective, all versions are stored in
the database itself as records and the system doesn't rely on any
particular backup methods in order to roll assets back to previous
versions.

I hope this helps!

Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/354265752015-04-20T16:26:07Z2015-04-20T16:26:07ZCascade Database settings (MSSQL Server)

I figured out that I can do nightly backups and it will be fine.
We publish on a one-per-day basis, so if the system crashes after
the publish, we can just ask our users to redo their page edits
from the live website. It seems to be an acceptable model.

the majority of our clients do (regardless of database vendor).
Have a good one!

Tim
