Live View Pane
We are installing v6.7 and I noticed that the "Live View" link isn't being displayed on the View tab. It's only showing Layout, Preview, Properties, Lock, and Configurations. Any ideas why it's not appearing?

Hi,
Are you attempting to use this feature within the Global Area or Sites? As unfortunately this feature is only available within Sites.
Thanks!

Hi-
I don't see the drop-down that allows me to switch between the Global Area and the Sites. We're upgrading from 5.7 to 6.7. Is this perhaps part of the problem?

Yes, as the Sites feature was released in 6.0.
Thanks!

So I need to convert everything to a site?
Support Staff 5 Posted by Tim on 03 Aug, 2010 05:59 PM
If you are looking to take advantage of this functionality in the system, you will need to use the Site Migration Wizard to convert your sites from the Global area into Site objects. I always recommend that database backups are created before doing a site migration just to be safe!
Also, here is a link to our site migration webinar video:

Hope this information helps!

I started watching the webinar, but at 13:56 the movie stops. I can't go beyond this. Any ideas?
Support Staff 8 Posted by Tim on 04 Aug, 2010 01:14 PM
Interesting. I just tried the video here and let it run for about 20 minutes in the background. It got beyond that point with no problem and I was able to skip around to any point in the video. Is this reproducible every time for you? Does it happen in multiple browsers?

I just finished trying it in Chrome and IE in addition to FF and yes it's happening to me in all 3 browsers. IE went the furthest at 21:56, but I can't see anything beyond that. And I can't skip around like you can either. I'd like to view this to make sure I'm doing the site migration correctly.
I'm trying one out on our test server now and it's been running for 1 1/2 hours so far. Is this typical? Or is something going wrong?
Support Staff 10 Posted by Tim on 04 Aug, 2010 03:59 PM
This is pretty typical - it all depends on the size of your site. I've seen a migration take over 24 hours before, but that was not normal.
One thing you can do to get some sort of feedback as to what's going on in the background is to do the following:
Then, you should see more logging in your cascade.log file as the migration is happening (showing you what's being moved, etc).
Let me know if this helps.
