adding a calendar to an existing site

We are currently using event pages on our site and would like to add a monthly calendar. Is there anyway to build an event page and have it show up as an event page and show up in a calendar at the same time? I have not figured out a way to do that because the data formats don't seem to be compatible. Trying to prevent having to do double entry.

    Many Cascade users do this quite frequently for news and events items.

    I would suggest having a 2010 (year) folder - month folders (for each month) - index page (for the listing that should be a "Event Monthly Index" Content Type or whatever name you prefer). Then store your Events in the corresponding month folders.

    For your "Monthly Event Index" Content Type. In your main content region, I would assign a Current Folder Block and a corresponding Format (velocity or XSLT would work) that formats the output for all pages in that folder that are not your Event Monthly Index.

    Please let me know if you need any further clarification on specifics of this. This is just a high level description of how we have implemented this in the past.
