inside START-ROOT-CODE when doing crazy tricks with that pseudotag
(in my case it was part of a region that output the --). Over here
I just replaced them out with single dashes because they were part
of content and not that important, they weren't markup. Sorry I
can't help but I thought I'd let you know we experience this
