Image Resizer Plug-in
I'm finding that it typically takes nearly 2 minutes to upload high-res images, like the one attached (3852 x 2538, 6.43 MB), using the Image Resizer plug-in. That seems like a long time. Is that typical?

An image of that size could feasibly take that amount of time to upload into the system. The actual resizing process does not take much time at all, so the bulk of the time is going to stem from the file itself being uploaded.
With the release of Cascade 6.8 beta, there is a built-in image editor that may eliminate the need for the Image Resizer Plug-in. You can see the release notes about 6.8 beta here. There is also a blog post that talks about it as well.
Upgrading alone is free. So depending on what version you are running you can easily get 6.8 when it moves out of the beta stage. (If you are running a version prior to 5.5 you will first need to upgrade to 5.5 before upgrading to 6.8)
