Conditional Metadata
I didn't see anything on this discussion board or on the idea exchange but it it already exists, I apologize. I was wondering if there is any way to require certain dynamic metadata fields based on the value of other metadata fields. I am trying to build out an athletics site management system that will keep track of game results, scores, tournament results, etc but I want to be able to require a "Place" field if they have selected that this is a "Tournament" entry but not if they choose "Game", or similar issues that arise from the differences in sports. Has anyone done anything like this? Is it even possible in Cascade or did you have to build some sort of external system. We currently have a database driven system now but I would love to be able to move as much as possible into Cascade.
Thanks,
Kris

Hi Kris,
This type of functionality does not currently exist. It sounds really similar to the following idea, though (although the linked idea pertains to Structured Data Definitions as opposed to Metadata): Structured Data Field Progressive Disclosure
Be sure to vote it up!

Yep, that is definitely similar to what I want to do ... in fact, it would probably work just the same if not better. Now to figure out what to take votes away from ...
Thanks
