How do I copy a page, that uses a custom data definition, from one site to another? (Cascade Server 6.7)

    Hi,

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, you should be able to do the following:

    • Click the Copy tab on the page you would like to copy
    • Click the Parent Folder chooser
    • In the chooser dialog window, use the drop down menu at the top to select your Site
    • Select the folder within the Site
    • Click Submit

Let me know if you have any problems.

    Thanks

I don't see a drop down menu, at the top, to select a different Site. How do I get that to appear?

There are a couple of things that you will want to confirm:

    • That you are attempting to copy the Page from a Site to another Site (and not from the Global area to a Site)
    • That you have access to other Sites (in the Site Management interface, click on a Site and then click the Access tab)

Let me know if this helps.

The pages I want to copy are in the Global area. How would I copy those pages to another Site?

You would need to manually re-create all of the items necessary to construct the page (Template, Content Type, Data Definition, etc). The only other option would be to write a Web Services script which would read the original Page and then reconstruct the Page in your Site based on the response.

    Hope this helps.
