The behavior you are experiencing sounds like an unintended side-effect of Broadcast Messages which were introduced in Cascade Server 6.4.

If you are logged into Cascade in one browser, it will keep you logged in until the browser window (or tab) is closed.

You can track the underlying issue here.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/36617092010-11-05T20:39:15Z2010-11-05T20:39:15ZAllow Concurrent Logins

I wouldn't think that was the issue... when I log in elsewhere, I can usually stay in for a few moments, then I get logged out, with a message that says, "You have been logged out because this user is logged on elsewhere", or something along those lines. I may be misreading the link you posted, but that doesn't look like the same thing to me.

webadmintag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/36617092010-11-05T20:55:12Z2010-11-05T20:55:12ZAllow Concurrent Logins

Sorry, I should have been more clear. As you mentioned, you can't actually log in to the same Cascade instance using the same user name on different machines. In this particular case, however, it sounds like you are unable to stay logged in at home because your browser is open at work. (The session you have opened at work is keeping you logged in due to the broadcast messaging system)

Let me know if this helps to clarify.

Thanks!

Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/36617092010-11-05T21:37:28Z2010-11-05T21:37:28ZAllow Concurrent Logins

Well, it clarifies your original point. My main question was if this feature could be disabled. I know my workstation keeps Cascade open. My point was that it is left open intentionally. I need to be able to log in from two different places. Is there any possibility this could be removed (or at least made optional) in an upcoming patch?

webadmintag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/36617092011-03-02T21:19:14Z2011-03-02T21:19:14ZAllow Concurrent Logins

I've noted this in our Idea Exchange: Allow a user to log in
from multiple computers or browsers (<a href=

Please add votes and/or comments there so we know it's an important
issue to you.

Ross
