One-source content to all items within a folder (including within subfolders)

I need to create the following structure

I have a set of course folders, and each folder belongs to a certain department, within a school, within a college. Is there any way to display this hierarchy from a single source, as we want to include information (contact, page links, etc) within the course listing, but all the ways I have come up with seem to be a dead end.

My initial thought was to attach blocks to folders, but that is not possible. My other thought was to assign block to the index page, but I am unsure how I could propagate that to the other pages.

    Hi,

My apologies for the delayed response to your discussion.

One possible solution would be to utilize a contextual Index Block that allows you to access the folder hierachy, thus giving you the college, school and department. Otherwise, what you could do is match things up using a dynamic metadata field and/or a chooser that allows you to specify one or more of these items. Regardless, you need that way of associating the pages with each of those levels.

We do have a sample course catalog Site on the Cascade Exchange. That might be able to give you a decent starting point since it does have a similar hierarchy.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
