I'm trying to create a permission scheme where users can't create any new assets except for uploading pdf's. I've reviewed group permissions and site role permissions but the copy tab remains and any asset can be copied into the folder they have write access permission.

As far as I know, you can't make the copy tab disappear at all, though any ability settings or permission rules.

You can clamp copy operations down via required workflow, which isn't exactly what you want, because the users could still submit a request to copy an asset -- but it will never go through without someone else's approval.

Correct. I believe that as long as a user has Read access to an asset, he/she can copy it to a Folder to which he/she has Write permissions.

Thanks. I've given read access to everything so users can internally link to content and Cascade can manage the links. I'll just tell them the standard "don't click there"
