<p>Unfortunately this is not possible at the current time. Please be sure to vote on <a href="http://ideas.hannonhill.com/forums/52559-cascade-ideas/suggestions/784879-allow-for-workflow-steps-to-be-reassigned?ref=title">this related idea</a>. Yea, that is a problem especially if there are no escalation steps in the workflow (which would redirect the workflow to another user after a certain period of inactivity). I've added one of my own votes to that issue which I mentioned above.</p>
