Initiate a workflow when creating a folder asset

I have a folder asset that I created an asset factory for.
I have a workflow assigned to the "Base Asset" in the asset factoy
and the same workflow assigned to the asset factory with the workflow mode set to "As selected below".

But every time I create the folder asset I don't get an option to initiate a workflow. I just get the regular "Submit" button. And when I try to edit, etc. no workflow is initiated.

    Hi Emil,

Unfortunately, Workflows can not currently be applied to Folder assets (regardless of the action type). I do see that we have a related suggestion on our Idea Exchange. I highly recommend voting this up if you would like for the feature to be considered for a future release.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

    That disapointing.

Your documentation is misleading then. At the very least you should mention the exception.

Our apologies for the confusion, Emil, I can definitely see how the the page can be misleading since it refers to "any asset" without the Folder exception. I went ahead and updated a few of the sections on the Workflow page to indicate Folders are an exception to hopefully help avoid the confusion in the future.

I'm going to go ahead and close this discussion, please feel free to comment or reply to re-open if you have any additional questions.

    Have a great day!
