Trying to use the optional publish sample workflow.

    Hi Jonahlyn,

    I took a quick look at that workflow and it appears that the user Workflow Assigned is really just there as a placeholder. The reason for this is because the first step of the workflow is going to assign this step to the workflow owner. In the editing step, the same user is once again preserved so I don't think it will matter who the default-user is. You can either modify the workflow XML such that the default-user attribute specifies a user that already exists in your system - or - you could create a new user named Workflow Assigned to act as a placeholder. I would recommend changing the workflow to point to a user that already exists in the system.

    Okay. I edited the workflow and hard-coded myself (actually a test user I'm logged in as to test the workflow) as the default-user. I got a little farther this time. However, I tried to use the "Edit the Asset" action and I got the error "An error occurred: Your roles do not allow you to advance workflow."

    My school is new to cascade and we're all still trying to understand roles and workflows. What would I need to change for this user to allow it to advance workflow?

    It sounds like you may need to edit one of your user Roles and make sure that the ability to Assign to self and approve steps in a workflow is enabled. Try enabling that and let me know if it allows you to advance the workflow.
