Global Find & Replace
I have a content provider who is retiring. Her contact information is in data definition fields on nearly hundred pages. Is there a simple way to search the values of a Data Definition field for a specific value and replace it with another value? I know it could be done directly in the database (if I knew the proper database field name) but I'm hesitant to go mucking about in the database.
Anyone got any better solutions?

Hi Mark,
This is going to be a tough one. The Search/Replace will likely not find anything in Data Definition or Metadata fields. It will only search blocks, pages, formats, and templates. You may be able to use the Basic Search to at least identify the affected pages, but it won't provide you with an opportunity to replace the term automatically.
We have an internal improvement idea for making both searches capable of returning matches from data definition fields and metadata fields. Hopefully that functionality is something we'll see sooner rather than later.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
