<p>On Nov 17th 2014, Google shut down the V1 and V2 versions of
their <a href=
"https://developers.google.com/google-apps/calendar/v2/developers_guide_protocol">
Calendar APIs</a>. This means you can no longer easily obtain a
feed for public calendars without knowing the calendar's ID and
obtaining a developer key, as you indicated.</p>
<p>In order to continue using Simple Pie, you should be able to
simply obtain a key and the ID of your calendar and pass a
different URL to Simple Pie. Note: the data differs, so you will
most likely need to adjust your code accordingly.</p>
<p>I find <a href=
"http://fullcalendar.io/docs/google_calendar/">these directions</a>
on the Full Calendar jQuery plugin website helpful for obtaining an
API key and the calendar's ID. Once you have this information, the
new URL format would look like the following:</p>
<p>
<code>https://www.googleapis.com/calendar/v3/calendars/CALENDAR_ID/events?key=API_KEY</code></p>
<p>Where <code>CALENDAR_ID</code> is the unique ID of the calendar
you wish to pull from and <code>API_KEY</code> is the API key you
generated.</p>
<p>Please let me know if you have any questions.</p>
<p>Thanks!</p></div>Ryan Griffith
