I have a Flash applet code in an xhtml block from ver 5.7x that I was able to edit in that version. Now I have to modify the applet, but cannot do so in 6.4.1 because the "<param name=..." statements are all converted to <span name=..." upon submitting the change.

Here's the code:

<applet archive="LiveApplet.zip" code="LiveApplet.class" codebase="http://xxx.xx.xxx.xx:80/-wvdoc-01-/LiveApplet/" height="360" width="440">
  <param name="url" value="http://xxx.xx.xxx.xx:80/"/>
  <param name="cabbase" value="LiveApplet.cab"/>
  <param name="locale" value="english"/>
  <param name="capture_size" value="320x240"/>
  <param name="video_width" value="320"/>
  <param name="bg_color" value="#eeeeee"/>
</applet>

After submitting, it is converted to:
<applet archive="LiveApplet.zip" code="LiveApplet.class" codebase="http://xxx.xx.xxx.xx:80/-wvdoc-01-/LiveApplet/" height="360" width="440">
  <span name="url" value="http://xxx.xx.xxx.xx:80/"class="mceItemParam"></span>
  <span name="cabbase" value="LiveApplet.cab"class="mceItemParam"></span>
  <span name="locale" value="english"class="mceItemParam"></span>
  <span name="capture_size" value="320x240"class="mceItemParam"></span>
  <span name="video_width" value="320"class="mceItemParam"></span>
  <span name="bg_color" value="#eeeeee"class="mceItemParam"></span>
</applet>

There are a couple of questions about this in the old forum, and the only answer involved adding/modifying a data def., an alternative I don't care to get into with this.

I've tried lots of alternatives, including "START-CODE," "CDATA,," combinations of both, [system-asset] to a text block, and even different browsers (latest FF & IE), and nothing works.

Geez, with VI it'd have taken five seconds.
Any solutions?

    I would change to using an XML block if you are only having this block of code and do not need any HTML rendering of it.

    This will also enable you to have a preview of the actual code when you click on the block versus seeing a blank content block.

    It looks like this is an issue with TinyMCE. The reason this did not happen in Cascade 5.7.x was due to the fact that an older version of TinyMCE was in use at the time (when apparently they didn't have this problem). I created a bug in their bug tracker to make them aware.

    In the meantime, I would suggest doing as Penny mentioned above. XML blocks should retain all of that information.
