I have a specific process in mind and I'm trying to figure out if a workflow like this is possible.

1) A user edits and saves a XHTML/Data Definition Block in his or her own site.

2) On save, a workflow starts that asks the same user to review and approve a page where the block is included as part of the content. The page is located in a different site and the user does not have access to edit the page itself.

3) If the user approves the page, the page is published to the web server.

Does anyone know if something like this is or isn't possible?

Thanks.

The scenario you described above is not possible with the use of workflows. There isn't any way to 'spawn' new workflows for other assets.

What you may wish to do is have the XHTML/Data Definition Block go into a workflow where an approver (who does have access to pages where this Block is used) can approve any changes made to that Block.

Also, there isn't any automated way of publishing only pages that use that Block. Instead, you would need to rely on users manually publishing the subscriber assets or you could set up a publish set to publish an entire folder (or site) at some point during the day.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks

Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/30389632010-10-06T17:43:16Z2010-10-06T17:43:16ZWorkflow for XHTML/Data Definition Block

Okay thanks for the response.

jonahlyn
