<p>One of our users has uploaded a .swf file in the CMS and now
wants to use it on one of his pages. How can he do this?</p>
<p>He is trying to to use the embed helper of the WYSIWYG but no
matter what path/url to the asset that he types, it doesn't seem to
work.</p>
<p>I have tried to put a direct URL to the video in the CMS
(/render/file.act?id=8ced94bd0a0f23150005969e7c9889c6&type=file&forceDownload=true&rewrite=false)
but event his doesn't work.</p>
<p>Can this be done?</p>
<p>Thanks</p></div>Jonathan Frankstag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/339768842014-07-31T15:54:32Z2014-07-31T15:54:32ZInclude a swf file from the CMS in a page.<div><p>Hi Jonathan,</p>
<p>I just uploaded a SWF file into my local instance and tried to
embed it into a Page using the 'Insert/Edit Embedded Media' icon.
For the 'File/URL' field, I provided it with the path to my SWF
file in Cascade Server. I then noticed that the code rendered did
not properly rewrite the links to the SWF in the system. This
appears to be due to the fact that Cascade Server doesn't look to
rewrite links in 'data' attributes or 'value' attributes.</p>
<p>So, to force the system to attempt to rewrite the link, try
using 'system-asset' tags around the path to the flash file. For
example, in my 'File/URL' field I used:<br></p>
<pre>
<code>[system-asset]/swf-test/Car-speakers-590x90.swf[/system-asset]</code>
</pre>
This allowed the system to rewrite the links as expected and the
flash file now loads in my page. Give this a shot and let me know
if it helps.
<p>In the meantime, I'll look around for any related issues in our
Cascade Server project because I don't see how this could ever work
for internal flash files (only external ones) the way things are
currently configured.</p>
<p>Thanks</p></div>Timtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/339768842014-07-31T16:11:11Z2014-07-31T16:11:11ZInclude a swf file from the CMS in a page.<div><p>Thanks Tim.</p>
<p>That worked well, although it is a little more difficult for
users to have to edit the HTML and use the [system-asset] tag every
time.</p>
<p>If there's no other way to do it, this might be a good feature
that could use an improvement in a future release.</p></div>Jonathan Frankstag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/339768842014-07-31T19:05:53Z2014-07-31T19:05:53ZInclude a swf file from the CMS in a page.<div><p>Hey Jonathan,</p>
<p>Glad to hear that worked. I totally agree with you that this is
not user friendly so I went ahead and filed an issue <a href=
"https://hannonhill.jira.com/browse/CSI-787">here</a> to address
it.</p>
<p>Thanks for the feedback! Have a good one.</p></div>Tim
