PDF Error

When I published out a large site yesterday, the PDF version of each page is now blank, and the errors in the publish confirmation message start out with:

com.hannonhill.cascade.model.render.page.PageRenderException: An error occurred while rendering the PDF: Gap in the kids list!

What does "Gap in the kids list" mean? We haven't touched the XSLT that the PDF configuration uses, but I'm sure we've changed other code in other places. Please let me know...thanks.

When this has happened to me in the past it was some invalid content that was entered in a page. Every pdf that content was pulled into ended up being blank.

I would suggest looking for the page that has "Gap in the kids list!" and closely looking at the content within that page. Once you find the particular page (assuming your pdfs worked before), I would use Version control to see what the last working version was and then compare what changed from one to the other. You might also have to check the formats that process the content for that page and see how they changed.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Penny! Unfortunately, about 30 minutes after I posted that question, the client asked us to remove all PDF versions of the page because the PDF files don't meet accessibility requirements. But I appreciate your thoughts, and I'll keep that in mind the next time I run into this problem.
