I was not able to reproduce this behavior in my local 7.8.2
instance of Cascade Server. I have a few questions to see if we can
narrow things down a bit:

What version of Cascade Server are you currently running?

Do you have any Formats applied to the region that may be
removing the
--
character sequence? Or perhaps an XSLT
Format applied at the Template or Configuration Set level?

What is the desired output after publishing the page?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Ryan Griffithtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/314286892014-02-05T16:58:36Z2014-02-05T16:58:36ZEmbedded PHP Code oddity.

We are using Cascade Server 7.6

And we do have a template level Format to move information from
the into the portion of the page but it should not affect comments
in the body (the the best of my knowledge).

The way it is publishing is what it is supposed to be...it just
seems an odd way to get there.

is that we recommend, but when I saw this one it sort of baffled
me.

ddenttag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/314286892014-02-05T17:13:25Z2014-02-05T17:13:25ZEmbedded PHP Code oddity.

Hi,

I was also not able to reproduce this in my local 7.6 instance,
so I am curious if it is a Format stripping that character sequence
somewhere along the way.

As you mentioned, using code sections is definitely the way to
go so you can ensure valid PHP is generated.

Ryan Griffith
