VMWare ESXi 5.0
Is the Cascade management system supported in virtual environment? I plan to convert a physical server to my VMWare Infrastructure; however, I want to confirm first that it's supported.
Thanks,
Cameshia

I can't answer for Hannon Hill's support, but we are running Cascade Server on VMWare without a problem.

Hi Cameshia,
You should be fine virtualizing your environment as long as you use an operating system that supports a Sun/Oracle Java runtime. We have a few listed on our Cascade Requirements page.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks.

@Eric. Thanks for your response.
@Ryan - I reviewed the Cascade Requirements. Just to be clear, I should be good with a 2-way - 2 x Xeon X5660 / 2.8 GHz - RAM 24 GB?

Cameshia, you should be fine as long as the operating system supports a Sun/Oracle Java runtime.
The only issue I could see is If the new virtual machine has more CPUs than your license allows. The Standard Cascade license allows for 1 CPU, the Enterprise license allows for 2.

Hi Cameshia,
I was going over some older discussions and noticed this one is still open. Were you able to get Cascade installed in your virtual environment?
Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks.

Thanks for asking. I actually haven't moved it yet but there's no need to keep this open. If I have any strange problems and I always resort back to the physical server; however, I don't think that's going to be necessary.
