What does the error 'A content type is required' mean? When I go to New->Deafult->Page, and add a new page, I get this error when I click submit. What am I doing wrong and how can i resolve this?

    Hi Gerry,

What does the error 'A content type is required' mean?

This error indicates that you are attempting to create a new Page using the default Page Asset Factory without specifying a Content Type, which is required within Sites.

To resolve this, you will need to ensure you have an existing Content Type that you can apply to the Page during creation. Please see the attached screenshot to find the location of the new Page's Content Type field.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

The problem for me is that I do not have the search option (see
    screenshot).

    Hi Gerry,

Judging by your screenshot, you may have the type-ahead chooser disabled in your User Preferences.

This is perfectly fine, clicking on the square brackets ([]) next to Content Type will open a chooser dialog, which will allow you to choose an existing Content Type for the Page. Instructions on applying a Content Type to a Page can be found here.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks
