Getting the error that our role is unable to advance the workflow when we attempt to submit en edit of a page. Granted, we are setting up our first workflow and are a bit lost. As a test, we are trying to set up the workflow here as a means to get used to workflows. We copied over this workflow as is, and created a group called 'Workflow Assigned', and also changed the 'Approvers' group to a group we have set to approve workflows.

The group that the user belongs to that is starting the workflow is in the contributor role, and we did enable the setting 'assign to self and advance workflow' for that role.

Any thoughts as to what else might be going on to not allow this user to advance a workflow? Thanks,

    • Can you include the specific error message and any relevant logging from around the time of the error?
    • At what step in the workflow are you running into this problem?
    • The first non-auto step in this workflow "owner-hold" actually uses a "default-user" setting of "Workflow Assigned". You could try changing that to "default-group" because it sounds like you created a group called "Workflow Assigned" instead.
