data definition update

Hi ... was wondering if I make changes to a data definition, will the blocks that use that data definition lose its current information that is already in it?

    Hi,

    It depends on what changes you want to make. Adding fields is OK. Removing fields means the creation of phantom nodes. If you reorganize fields by adding groups, or moving fields from one group to another, then yes, you will loose data. The best way to do this is probably to use web services.
