left column HTML rendering differently on select pages

Just ran across a strange error on a few of our pages. We have a region for a left navigation block and on some pages it seems to fall out of the grid that it is in. Here' what a normal left nav looks like and here's an example of one that is not working correctly

It seems that a <strong> tag is wrapped around everything within the column. I copied the HTML from the Inspect Element tool in chrome and here's what it shows:

    <div class="three columns sidebar pull-nine" id="sidebar-first">
      <div class="left-sidebar">
        <div class="vertical-menu">
          <block-xhtml><h1><a href="index.shtml">Performance Music </a></h1>
<ul id="nav">
<li><a href="coming-events.shtml">Coming Events</a></li>
<li><a href="houlihan-mclean.shtml">Houlihan McLean Center</a></li>

I do not know where this <strong> tag is coming from because I do not see it in the template or any of the left column blocks. Any ideas why this is being inserted into our HTML?

    When I look at the source, I have a few concerns:

    1. The strong tags that bother you do NOT exist in the source, at least not when I view the source, though I can see them when I view the element. Please confirm that they are there in the published source.

    2. There are a lot of strong elements in the p elements on the right. Sequentially, they all appear before the left menu. If one of them is not closed properly, either Cascade or the browser will try to correct it by closing it somewhere later. This could be the reason why you have an extra strong tag. I also notice that there is an empty strong element right after PLEASE CHECK BACK SOON! You may want to clean up all the strong elements first.

    3. The Cascade block-xhtml tags are still there. You may want to clean them up as well.

    I found the </strong> in the content body and removed it. It seemed to have resolved the issue! I didn't realize that would affect another section of the website like that.
