This sounds like it may be more of a CSS overflow issue than a
Cascade Server issue. Do you by chance have a sample page published
that I can take a closer look at?

Thanks!

Ryan Griffithtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/328704722014-05-07T15:30:01Z2014-05-07T15:30:01ZSystem Region "eating" (wrapping?) other system regions.

Sure, just don’t judge our abilities by our very, very
unfinished rough draft! Used copied over css from elsewhere and
only worked with it enough to make sure the velocity formats and
the template are working. ☺

I thought it was a cascade thing because of how the system
region in-context editor behaved but I guess that could be css
related too.
Thanks,

To confirm, the main content area should have a white background
while the bottom footer should have a light gray background? If so,
it looks like you have a few options:

Add
overflow: hidden;
to
#mainContent

to clear the floated child elements

Add
clear: left;
to
#footer-bar
(or
the outer

that surrounds it) to clear the
spacing created by the floated elements within mainContent

Also, I noticed you have the following CSS error for

#footer-bar
:

font-family: Open Sans
position:fixed;

Note the font-family style is missing a semi-colon. This causes
both of these styles to be treated as one and are not actually
applied since it's invalid. You will notice the footer placement is
way off when you fix this CSS error, so you might be able to simply
remove
position: fixed;
all-together.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Ryan Griffithtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/328704722014-05-07T16:17:23Z2014-05-07T16:17:23ZSystem Region "eating" (wrapping?) other system regions.

Well, that cleared it up!
