Dashes in Velocity code

While creating a velocity format that has HTML code in it, I've run into some issues. We are using Zurb Foundation and it tends to be a little dash heavy.

The particular line in question is below. When I take out the classes with dashes in them, things work fine. However if I leave them in and inspect the outputted code on my page, the em tag just repeats over and over on itself. Is there a particular way I need to code this HTML so Cascade won't get mad? Thanks!

    Hi Todd,

I believe I ran into a similar issue with Bootstrap/Font Awesome when using an empty <i></i> tag for icons. When you have a moment, try placing a non-breaking space inside of the tag (&#160;) and let me know if you continue to experience this behavior.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
