Nesting html inside of an anchor tag / WIZIWIG issue

Using the WIZIWIG, how come when I nest html inside an anchor tag it rewrites the html and strips the anchor tag out?

As an example:

<a href="example.html">
     <div>This is line one</div>
     <div>this is line 2</div>
     <div><img src="thisisanimage.jpg"></div>

Once I hit submit it rewrites the html to:

<div>This is line one</div>
<div>this is line 2</div>
<div><img src="thisisanimage.jpg" /></div>

    Hi Bradley,

    When you have a moment, scope out Tim's response on this discussion for an explanation of this behavior as well as a possible workaround using code sections.

    Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Ah yes the cdata. Make sense. I just went in and reorganized my html/css so it was valid. All is good on my end now. I was just curious to see if there was a solution for future reference. Thanks
