Asset icons disappear in layout view - certain roles?

One of our non-admin users mentioned that the block icons, which normally appeared in Layout View of a Page asset, are no longer visible. Our admins can see them, but we confirmed non-admins cannot. I read through some of the Knowledge Base, but it may just be more efficient for me to ask! Is this now a setting or a permanent change for certain roles/users?

Thanks!

    Hi Sarah,

Are you referring to the in-context block icon to edit block/format assignments specifically, or the in-context icons in general (ie pencil vs block icon)?

If you are referring to the block icon, the user must have at least READ access on the block/format (including at least READ on the parent folder(s)) AND the ability to modify Outputs on a Page.

To see the pencil icons, in-context fields need to be configured for the Page's Content Type. This is done by editing the content type and going to the Editable Fields tab. Here you would configure what field(s) are available for each region, for a specific Output.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
