I came across this warning while running a test migration (see
below). All of these groups have an assigned base folder. Should I
disable them?

The Starting Page and Base Folder settings at the Group level
are only applicable to the Global area (sort of a legacy setting
once you are migrated to Sites). This message is indicating that
these Assets are being migrating into a Site and they will no
longer exist within the Global area, because they will no longer
exist within the Global area these settings for the Group(s) will
be cleared. Once you are migrated to the Site, there are Starting
Page and Asset Factory Container settings for you to set at the
Site level.

Are group assignments automatically migrated also or need to be
reassigned after migration?

Are you referring to the Users that are assigned to the Group?
If so, these assignments will remain. Once the Site has been
created you will set up the Site Roles, which allow you to specify
what Groups an/or individual Users will be able to access and do
within the Site.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Ryan Griffithtag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/265726922013-04-26T13:18:48Z2013-04-26T13:18:48ZGlobal to site migration warning

Thanks.

Maytag:help-archives.hannonhill.com,2010-02-09:Comment/265726922013-04-26T15:17:37Z2013-04-26T15:17:37ZGlobal to site migration warning

Not a problem at all, I hope this explanation helped clear
things up. I'm going to go ahead and close this discussion, please
