I want to know if anyone has implemented anything like ask.com on their site. Just delving in to research about this. It doesn't appear ask.com has any ability for a user to implement a site-specific search or business end similar to Google. Our school wants a student to be able to enter a question and get an answer or follow-up.

Thanks.

    Hi Charla,

Just wanted to chime in. At my previous employer we had purchased a Google Search Appliance which offers the ability to crawl multiple sources as well as add the ability to crawl multiple sources and build in custom extensions/scripts that are based on certain search criteria (similar to the ones you see on Google when searching for weather or flight information).

I believe Google's Custom Search Engine also has some similar functionality in terms of crawling.

I think both have education educational discounts as well, but it has been a while since I've looked.
