ignoring target _blank

I want to open cross-site links in a new window. However, if the href is an internal link, the target="_blank" attribute is ignored. It is accepted if the href is external.

    Hi,

Just a few questions to see if we can narrow this down a bit:

    • What version of Cascade are you currently running?
    • Is this behavior occurring within Cascade or after the page with the link is published?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks.

It looks like it's only a problem in Cascade - I didn't realize that

    Hi Sara,

When choosing New Window as the target for internal links within Cascade, the links' target attribute is written as _parent in the preview area. I believe the intent is to allow you to continue working with Cascade in the same window, avoiding having multiple Cascade windows/tabs open at the same time.

The target attribute of these links should be changed to _blank after the page has been published. Let us know if this is not the case.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks.l

    Hi Ryan,

I understand, but find it confusing - I often test inside Cascade without publishing.

I can see how not being able to tell the difference between internal links that open in the same window and new window could be confusing.

Feel free to add a suggestion to the Idea Exchange if you feel this would be a good feature to add to a future version of Cascade.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks.
