There are now workflows available. Your role requires a workflow. You will not be able to submit this asset.

All,

One of my users is reporting this message when attempting to submit a page for workflow:

"There are now workflows available. Your role requires a workflow. You will not be able to submit this asset."

This appears in yellow at the top of the page.

I double-check the workflow assigned to the folder, and I checked the access to the folder. Everything is as it should be. Help!

Hi, can you please take a screenshot of the Workflows tab for the Folder and attach it here? Can you also ensure that the user has access to the Workflow via it's "applicable groups" in the Workflow Definition?

The user has access to the workflow.

    Can you include screenshots of:

    • the Workflows tab for the Folder with the attached workflow
    • the Edit screen of the Workflow you're trying to make accessible to the user

Also, is your user trying to create an asset in workflow or edit an existing asset when getting that message?

I don't mean to hijack but I'm running into a similar situation. I had a site with 2 do-nothing workflow definitions, workflows were inherited but not required. This worked for a Publisher role but not a User role.

So I removed the 2 do-nothing workflow definitions, and applied Inherit Workflows = No and Require Workflow = No to the Workflows tab of Base Folder. Now a user in the Publisher role/group gets this error.

I noticed that when I (site manager role) create a folder on that site, and I check its Workflow tab, it defaults to Inherit Workflows = Yes and Require Workflow = Yes; however, another user in a different Publisher group can add pages without getting the error. (I gave the different Publisher group Write permission on Base Folder and down.)

    Hi,

I was going over some older discussions and noticed this one is still open. Are you still experiencing this behavior, or has it since been resolved? If so, have you had a chance to read Bradley's comment above?

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks.
