Content disappears after editing Data Definition

I'm still experiencing the problem reported in Content disappears after changing content type. On Version 7.4 - ea96d, I add data using a Data Definition (I'm not using the default WYSIWYG), then edit the Data Definition by adding a field. All the data disappears, even from fields that I didn't change. I guess I could use Web Services to re-map the data fields (since I understand it's still in the database), but could you provide a tool or feature instead?

    Hi Michael,

    It looks like we have a suggestion in our Idea Exchange to handle functionality like this here. I've added my votes to it. Please feel free to vote/comment on it as well.

    There is no ETA on this particular feature at this time but it's on our radar given the number of votes it has.
